National Implementation Research Network at the Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute at UNC-Chapel Hill |
As organizations begin the implementation science journey, they often hesitate to move fluidly through the stages. Going back to exploration or installation and examining gaps within the work can be challenging yet rewarding. There is also a vision of full implementation and sustainability, but what exactly does that mean or look like within an organization? Dr. Caryn S. Ward and Rebekah Hornak will highlight the benefits and intentionality of the stages, not a linear framework, but rather a dynamic framework that flows back and forth. They will also share the current conversations around the concept of sustainability and how an organization can define this not as an end goal but as a process. |

This session describes the Office of Child Development and Early Learning’s (OCDEL’s) initiative to assist Early Intervention staff. OCDEL sees and hears the professionals who are learning to cope with their personal trauma from the global pandemic event while also supporting the children and families in the commonwealth. We know children are coming into the early childhood settings with unique challenges and needs. As OCDEL works to develop and implement strategies to support the children, we also recognize the caring, committed adults need support as well. |

As leaders, we often want to work harder and faster to implement a new practice. We tend to focus on what needs to be done and how it is going to happen. This session will review why the Bureau of Early Intervention Services and Family Supports is committed to improving the quality of service delivery in Pennsylvania Early Intervention and encourage participants to reflect upon how focusing on their own why will make what they do more impactful. |
